I don't think I'm being dramatic when I tell you that this post is literally going to change your life. Ok...maybe a touch dramatic, but it will seriously change your linen closet! And for people (like myself) who are organizational freaks, changing my linen closet might as well be changing my life. So without further ado ... this is how you fold a fitted sheet.
First lay out your fitted sheet in a large area you can fold on with the scrunchy part (the part that goes under your mattress) facing up. Now take that corner and push your hand through making it inside out. (Both sides)
Now with both hands on the inner part of those inside out corners (as pictured above, but on both sides) take those corner and bring them up to the top of the sheet, still inside out.
Now keep moving upward with the inside-out corners and tuck them under the corners up top. Tuck the top and sides in as well. Then straighten and smooth.
The hard part is done! Your new mantra is: fold and smooth. See those two kid of flaps created on the sides when you did the inside-out-tuck business? Fold each one toward the middle and smooth down. (Smoothing down is crucial to this process)
Now fold those two sides together and smooth!
Make sure the sheet is nice and smooth. You may be concerned because the top is way bunchier and thick than the bottom….have no fear. Now section off the top part about the size of a sheet of paper.

And you guessed it, fold and smooth! And keep folding, don’t worry if you end up with a little tail at the end, that’s what the flat sheet will hide!
Now take the fitted sheet you folded and set it aside. Lay out your flat sheet and fold it hamburger style (toes to head). Next fold side to side. Don’t forget to smooth!
And just keep on folding…two more times.
Then set your folded fitted sheet on the flat sheet, tuck the little tail in, and fold into the flat sheet.
And you’re done!
The more you do this the fast you will get at it! Plus keep in mind these are flannel sheet so they add a little more bulk than normal.
