Cannot. Contain. the Excitement. about this post!!!
I have ALWAYS wanted my mom to let me play dress up with her, and more often than not she reluctantly gave me permission in my younger years. BUT MOMMA CAME TO MY HOUSE AND GOT LUXEWISED THIS WEEK! If you don't know my mom, I am so sorry. You are missing out! We had too much fun playing makeup. And maybe you disagree, but I am confident she looks ten years younger. And just look at all the laughter. There is so much JOY from Jesus inside her! You know, she HATES having her picture taken, but I don't know why. She's a beauty! And if you think so too, you should go ahead and just let her know. ;)
Out of all of the products we used, I want to shed some light on a few that definitely MADE this look. The one that absolutely held this look together (quite literally) is Becca's Ever-Matte Powerless Priming Perfector. This primer means serious business. Unlike most primers that even things out by going on velvety smoothe, this little guy almost feels like it begins to drag or become slightly tacky before drying. And that is a GREAT thing, because it is like a straight up super glue for the rest of the pigments and products that you will apply to your face. I used it on 5 different skin types under 5 different foundations for an outdoor wedding a few weeks ago, and NO ONE'S makeup budged. It's worth every pretty penny IMO. The next product receiving honorable mention is Urban Decay's 24/7 Glide-On Lip Pencil in Ozone. You can think of this little gem as a primer in pencil form that colorlessly lines your lips for ultimate pigment adhesion and absolutely NO feathering. It also comes in jumbo pencil form as Ultimate Ozone that functions as a multipurpose pencil to line lips, smooth out mistakes, and even fill in fine lines. The last product that really amps up the look of supple skin in those of us with more mature epidermis is a highlighting powder. It allows you to keep everything matte that needs to be matte to only add shimmer and glow precisely where it is needed. On mom I used NYX Cosmetics' Illuminator in Ritualistic. All-over shimmer is NOT kind to aging skin due to the fact that it quite literally highlights every imperfection and line and wrinkle. So by using this illuminator to finish her look, mom's dewiness is focused of the tops of her cheekbones, the bridge of her nose, the arch of her brow, and the divot of her petite cupid's bow.
Let us know if you would like a more in-depth list of the products we used, and as ALWAYS, THANK YOU for following, reading, and supporting. And don't forget to go show Momma Ali some love!!!
