Y’all. IT’S CHRISTMAS TIME!! Isn’t that super fun? Ok—maybe you're a grown up and maybe Christmas is one part magic and one part stress. If you’re the lady of the house then maybe you also fill in all those little touches that no one else seems to remember like stuffing stockings? Stocking stuffing is something my husband could take or leave (or so he thinks, but I’m sure he would be so sad to find an empty stocking on Christmas morning, no matter what he says!). But I love raiding the dollar spot and candy aisles looking for little tidbits to put the icing on the Christmas morning cake.
But hey—I’ve got a little secret ladies. This is when I get myself all those small little trinkets that make me smile and that no one else would bother hunting down because they are all between zero and ten dollars!
Burt’s Bees Lip Shimmer - this has quickly become my very favorite lip product. There are several different colors but I love Rhubarb, it’s similar to a berry lip color. I’m not a big red lip girl as much as I really really want to be, I just love caramel and nude tones for lipstick. So this works well for me because it’s not quite as intense and bold as a bright red or berry lipstick. I think mainly it’s just in my head and brings me a level of comfort because even though it is colored, it is moisturizing, refreshing and minty just like the regular Burt’s Bees chapstick.
Que Bella face mask from Target- These come in all different types from anti-aging to relaxation to pore minimizing. I have sensitive skin and an allergy to sulfa which can make it hard for me to find fun little products that won’t wreak havoc on my skin. But Que Bella takes me and my skin to a happy place. During one of my husband’s work trips I may have commiserated with a friend who lives across the country and whose husband was away at the same conference. We both went to Target picked up a face mask and a bottle of white wine and had a Skype girls night after we put our kids down for bed. And for under 3 dollars this qualifies as a perfect stocking stuffer!
Bye Bye Under Eye travel/sample size - You’ve seen Camie use this product in tutorials before. It’s time to take the plunge and grab some of this miracle cream in a tube for yourself. During a weekend visit, Camie had a tiny amount left in her travel size tube and she fixed me all up. I was amazed. I haven’t looked this….awake, since before I had kids! She gave me the rest of her travel size tube and listen….it literally lasted me 6-7 MONTHS. And this was just the last quarter of a travel size tube of the stuff. Yes, $10 is getting up a little high for a stocking stuffer, but it will last so stinking long that you will be so glad you got it! And then if you really love it you can get yourself the full sized tube later!
Favorite candy - I really don’t have to tell you this one right? My personal favorite are the Nutcracker shaped Snickers candy bars that only come out at Christmas time. But you do you.
Bobby pins and ponytail holders - yea it’s simple, but doesn’t it feel nice not to hunt down the two remaining bobby pins and one lonesome ponytail holder in your house? Grab both for less than three bucks.
Dry Shampoo - cause #reallife am I right? You can have dirty hair and still look cute in that preschool pick up line. You're welcome.
Dollar spot pens and note pads- my very favorite pens come from the dollar spot section at Target. They are so cute and usually you can get two pens for one dollar and they almost always have corresponding cute note pads (some with magnets on the back too!) that make writing grocery lists and to do lists way more fun.
It’s the little things momma. And these are my favorite little things this year. And…even though I kind of want to hoard this information for myself, I’m gonna tell you about this one last little thing: seasonal holiday candles at Aldi. You are going to want to use these bad boys pronto so don’t wait to get them for your stocking. These massive candles are at Aldi right now for $4. Run, don’t walk and get a candle before they are all gone.
