So. We wanted to think back to a year ago and give you a list of the items that we really, truly LOVED over the last 12 months. Although we had some trouble remembering that long ago (Anyone else think part of or all of last year was a blur?? Amen?), we racked our brains and came up with these items!! Here are a few tried and true products/items that we NEED in our lives!!! ...Ok, not need, but you know what we mean. ;)
Loreal True Match Foundation
No matter what, I always come back to this product. One of the best things about this line of foundation is the color selection! Literally ANYONE can find their color. It might seem overwhelming at first, but it's actually really simple to find your perfect shade. It is separated into three categories: Warm (W), Cool (C), and Neutral (N). I use the colors N3 + N4 (depending on the season!) The formula of this foundation just WORKS for me. It lasts all day long when I set it with a setting powder, and looks natural on my skin. It is also very buildable - It can be almost sheer OR very full coverage. I've repurchased this product several times. Although it's a little pricey for drugstore foundation ($10-12), it really lasts! A tiny bit goes a long way.
This might go without saying, buuuut I LIVE in leggings. Half of my year was spent prego, and the other half? Let's just say it's more comfortable to wear something stretchy than constricting. I've been recently looking for more of a straight-leg yoga pant rather than traditional "leggings". I like these because they are not see through at all (and a little thicker), and I can actually wear them out of the house without completely covering my butt! I purchased a pair from Ross for about $12. If you're worried about the tightness of leggings, buy a size up! Who cares what the tag says? The ones I bought are super comfy AND don't look like they're painted on. :)
For those that do not know what Ipsy is, it is a beauty bag subscription. You pay $10/month and receive a makeup bag full of goodies each month! It is usually 4-5 beauty (hair, skin, makeup) products. I have only ever received ONE thing that was a one-time use (but I stretched it to two uses!). Everything I have received has been full sized products OR large samples. I've been nothing but pleased. There have been some products that I have received that I either didn't care for or I already had something similar, BUT there's always at least two or three things that I end up loving. Most of the time, there's at least ONE product that is worth way more than $10. If you're looking for a little "treat yo'self", girl, this. is. it. Ipsy is a great way to sample all kinds of beauty products before handing over the cash for them! To learn more about Ipsy or sign up, CLICK HERE!
IT Cosmetics ByeBye Under Eye Concealer
Until I branch out and possibly try something more expensive, this under eye concealer has blown me away. Everything that it says it will do, it pretty much does. Other concealers that I've used have a done a fabulous job of concealing, but this stuff conceals AND improves my skin. No more crows feet! Yay! And you can use it anywhere on your face. Some people have even blended it with their moisturizer to sheer it out and use as a foundation! Doubt I'll do that, BUT the stuff is most excellent.
NYX Jumbo Eyeshadow Pencil in Milk
I didn't realize that there was any hype around this rotund little shadow stick. But after using it all year, I can see why. It doubles as a shadow, liner, and primer all in one. Especially since I have a little bit more deepset eyes, I typically don't go a day (that I actually do my makeup) without using it. Pop it in the inner corner to brighten things up a bit. Line your water line to help you look rested when your eyes are irritated, red, and tired. And also, blend it out over your eyelid to make shadows stick and appear more pigmented.
Finally finding and investing in a self-tanning product has actually saved me some dollars! I can keep my skin tone relatively the same year round. So I don't have to buy three different shades of three different brands of three different types of foundation to keep me covered. (Ok, slight exaggeration, but doesn't it feel that way sometimes?) St. Tropez Self Tan Bronzing Mousse was the tanning game changer for me. It smelled pleasant, blended SO easily, and dried SUPER fast! Not to mention the color was almost the shade of my dream tan! The only downfall was the price. So of course I set out to find a substitute and found that Ulta's Instant Bronze Sunless Tanning Mousse did a pretty good job for less than half the price! So now tanning mousse's are my go to tanning product. What brand is your favorite?!
What items do YOU need to survive?! ;)
